 Who is Io Shirai

Masami Odate is a Japanese professional wrestler. She is signed to WWE, where she performs on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Iyo Sky, where she is the current WWE Women’s Champion in her first reign

Making her debut in March 2007, Shirai spent several years working as a tag team wrestler, teaming with her older sister Mio, with whom she would wrestle for various promotions across Japan and Mexico, winning the TLW World Young Women’s Tag Team Championship in the process. In June 2010, the Shirai sisters came together with fellow freelance wrestler, Kana to form the Triple Tails stable. The group lasted for fifteen months, before Io left an embarked on a singles career with the World Wonder Ring Stardom promotion. In April 2013, she won the promotion’s top title, the World Of Stardom Championship.

Toni Storm vs. Io Shirai

Shirai takes down Tone Storm with a toe hold, but Storm gets leverage and takes down Shirai. Storm escapes a scissor lock from Shirai and offers a handshake to Shirai, but Shirai denied it. Shirai’s athleticism allows her to gain a slight advantage over Storm, but Storm catches her with a basement dropkick, covering her for a two count.

Back on a vertical base, Storm uppercuts Shirai a few times and goes for a german suplex, but Shirai blocks it by going outside. Shirai then hits a single leg dropkick to Storm’s face from the apron, then Shirai covers Storm for two count back in the ring.

Shirai gets Storm in the corner and stomps away at her, then chops her in the chest. Shirai then kicks away at Storm’s midsection. Shirai then puts in a submission on Storm, chocking her while keeping a knee in the small of her back. Storm fights out of the submission, but Shirai takes Storm down with a shoulder tackle.

Shirai and Storm trade strikes, but Shirai gets Storm in a headlock on the ground. Storm tries to fight out of the hold, but Shirai levels her with a series of strikes and covers her for a two count. Toni Storm kicks out, and we go to commercial break.

Back from commercial, and Storm goes for a suplex, but Shirai counters into a double stomp on Storm, then hitting her in the corner with double knees. Shirai backs into the opposite corner and runs at Storm, but Storm catches her with a boot and a german suplex. Storm hits Shirai with a lariat and covers her for a two count.

Storm went for Storm Zero, but Shirai counts and runs the ropes. Storm turns Shirai inside out with a clothesline, then covers her for a two count. Storm goes for a shiny wizard, but Shirai dodges and rolls up Storm for a two count. Shirai goes for a tiger kick to Storm, but Storm catches Shirai and puts her in the ropes, dropkicking her and sending her to the outside. Storm goes to dive onto Shirai on the outside, but Bianca Belair comes out of nowhere and catches Storm with a forearm to the face before Storm can hit the dive.

Belair beats on Storm and Shirai, taunting in the ring, but Rhea Ripley’s music hits and comes down the ramp, staring at Bianca Belair. Ripley gets in the ring and Ripley and Belair attack each other until Io Shirai sends both Belair and Ripley out of the ring, then hits a moonsault onto both of them. As Io celebrates, Toni Storm hits a dive onto Io on the outside. Toni Storm is the only woman left in the ring and she grabs Ripley’s title and holds it above her head.
